PSK Throwback

In News by Daniel Dahlin

What happened after? How did the bands like PSK?

A look in the rear mirror at the PSK party and the bands that played there in 2016. Five questions were asked of the bands that played, here are the answers from… Grebol.

1: You played at PSK (Pretty Shitty Kjell) this year. How was the experience?

So good. A bunch of us have been attending the festival every year and we already knew what a great festival PSK is. It was great fun to play at such a big venue in front of a lot of people. We also had the pleasure to share room backstage with the gentlemen in Legion 76, who played their first show outside the US. Now they play Europe regularly and it’s great to see them achieving some success.

2: What did you think of PSK (Pretty Shitty Kjell) arrangement?

Everything went like clockwork. Except that we ran out of free backstage beer way too early. And that we had to experience the Glockenspiel of the Uppsala Cathedral. Yeah, ask Pike about that.

3: How was the reception from the audience?

We played first on Friday and many drunks were still yet to come and the nice sober people were polite and didn’t make that much noise. But more people than we had expected actually attended our gig. I’m not quite sure how many people actually had heard our songs before the gig since we had only released a three song demo at that time, but we think that we did alright considering the anxiety that comes for newbies like ourselves when playing a venue that big.

4: Which bands did you most look forward to see / hear?

Battle Ruins! And they did not disappoint. Legion 76, Crown Court and Lost Warning were also pure quality. Digital Octopus and Rixe were rather great too.

5: How has 2016 been? / What happens in 2017?

2016 has been a great year for us. We released our first record and did a bunch of fun shows. In the first half of 2017 we will be releasing a split 12” together with Orreaga 778 on Basque label Mendeku Diskak. Also we hope to get out and play some more gigs, write some new material and spread the Grebola like the virus it is.

PSK Throwback

In News by Daniel Dahlin

What happened after? How did the bands like PSK?

A look in the rear mirror at the PSK party and the bands that played there in 2016. Five questions were asked of the bands that played, here are the answers from… Troublemakers.

1: You played at PSK (Pretty Shitty Kjell) this year. How was the experience?

It was great. Some cool bands and a lot of nice people in the audience. My experience mixing bands like this is always 50-50. But Pike and crew believe in this and I think it was successful.

2: What did you think of PSK (Pretty Shitty Kjell) arrangement?

Always good food and cold beers. Not to many bands. And the bands had different style. Nice club. And the people who work with Pike are real pro… And made our time really pleasant. Thanx for that.

3: How was the reception from the audience?

I felt there were people from all of Sweden. Not just Stockholm. It´s an important festival. There were some skinheads with bad attitude but assholes are everywhere. So show them your friendship  and tell them the world belongs to all and they will disappear in some how. I think….But  I´m tired of this macho style and poser punks. Hopefully they grow up some day. But to 98% we had a ball.

4: Which bands did you most look forward to see / hear?

Sham 69 was very important to me when I was ´round 20 years old. I still love the early songs. It was interesting to see Jimmy at his age still rocking. We have been playing with different Sham 69 through the years but this was the first time with Jimmy.

5: How has 2016 been? / What happens in 2017?

This year we made 11 gigs. Shot some videos and released a record in 2016. We also celebrate our 35 years anniversary in october. A big party with a lot of guests and friends. Sold out. It was a really good memory for life. Hopefully we can make a DVD with this material. And for 2017 we have booked 5 gigs so far. One is the Close Up boat and others are some places we have not been before. Always nice to see new venues and play with other bands.
